The Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience, under the direction of Charles A. Nelson, Ph.D., seek a data analyst with an interest in neurodevelopment and EEG/related methods to join the Welcome LEAP ( https://wellcomeleap.org/ ) team, a multi-year project focused on the development of executive functions and dysfunction. The ideal candidate will also have the analytic/statistical skills to relate EEG and/or fNIRS data to a wealth of existing and to-be-collected behavioral data.
This position will oversee the neuroimaging data core in the Boston site, developed to address the high density and frequency of EEG, fNIRS, and related data that will be collected across all five study sites. Specific efforts that the data core will aim to focus on include developing methods to automate data transfer and neuroimaging processing pipelines, harmonizing/relating neuroimaging data across all sites, and creating EEG-based tools to predict cognitive outcomes (e.g. EF/dysfunction).
Implement and support statistical analyses and processing pipelines for behavioral, EEG, and fNIRS analysis.
Maintain quality control of neuroimaging data by developing and implementing QC protocols and pipelines.
Oversee implementation and management of cloud storage system (e.g. AWS)
Implementation of system for documenting code, results from analyses, and methodology to promote accessibility/reproducibility/reusability of code
Provide programming and analysis support for project members
Master's degree in health science, public health, epidemiology, or closely related field, including course work in biostatistics or computerized analytic techniques. Additionally, 1-2 years project management experience and prior experience in supervisory/leadership role in clinical studies is required.
Experience with statistics and statistical software scripting (Python/R preferred).
Experience working with EEG or similar time-series data (e.g. time-frequency analyses, nonlinear measures, )
Familiarity with AWS/cloud computing
Ability to lead a team/working with diverse teams across different institutions
Knowledge of FDA regulations and ICH GCPs guidelines.
Strong programming skills (Python/Java and MATLAB, at least) & ML experience
Experience in biomedical and/or clinical studies.
Experience working in Unix/Linux environment and bash scripting programming.
Ability to work independently and maintain complete and organized records.
During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
