Position Description: This position administers the functions of the offices of the Faculty Area Heads of the Animation and Screenwriting MFA Programs in the Department of Film, Television & Digital Media.
The position is responsible for key administrative management of both the MFA Animation Program and MFA Screenwriting Program. Both programs are multi-year MFA programs that provide in-depth professional training of graduate students in each field.
The Program Manager reports to Area Heads of the Animation and Screenwriting programs and the Department MSO and will be responsible for the following:
Animation Program (50%), Screenwriting Program (50%)
Oversees the day-to-day operations and budget of the Animation and Screenwriting programs.
Prepares quarterly Animation and Screenwriting course schedules and classroom assignments for approval by the Area Heads.
Coordinates and advises faculty on curricular planning, course maintenance, classroom needs.
Assists the Area Heads in the coordination of student academic issues and petitions.
Assists faculty and Area Heads on academic assessment, curricular changes and adjustments to catalog copy.
Reviews, directs and tracks funding to Animation and Screenwriting MFA students from departmental allocations (e.g. block grant, professional fees, donor awards, TA-ships, etc.)
Supervises Animation and Screenwriting program workstudies and student workers.
Manages Animation and Screenwriting program events, including lectures, master classes, conferences, and screenings.
Assists in the production of Animation Prom and Screenwriters Showcase during the annual TFT Festival of Creative Work.
Conducts various research and data collection assignments in support of the Area Heads.
Coordinates with Marketing & Communications on external communications related to faculty and student accomplishments in the Animation and Screenwriting programs.
Coordinates with TFT Development Office on fundraising and donor fund administration.
Coordinates hiring of Lecturers, Teaching Assistants and student workers in the Animation and Screenwriting programs.
Coordinates admissions interviews and communications with faculty throughout the admissions process for both the Animation and Screenwriting programs.
Assists with Animation and Screenwriting Program Orientations.
Coordinates alumni outreach for the Animation and Screenwriting programs.
