This position manages the dispatch services division within the police department, which oversees several functions. Responsibilities include the coordination of selection process with HR for assigned personnel; training, directing, monitoring, and evaluation of personnel assigned to the division; developing and maintaining CALEA compliant policies and procedures for the division; and coordination with other divisions across the department to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices and industry standards. Must be available to respond to emergencies 24/7. Must receive Nebraska NCIC telecommunications certification within one year.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, security, or a related field. Three years of experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively lead and manage people and business operations; operate standard office computers and software; provide superior customer service; collaborate with various groups; and communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to develop action plans that support organizational goals and effectively communicate those plans to subordinates.
Master's degree in business, public administration, security, or a related field. Experience with public safety dispatch, records management, purchasing, and inventory management processes. Knowledge of public safety dispatch procedures, computer aided dispatch systems, multi-line phone systems, two-way radios, and physical security/alarm systems. Knowledge of state and local laws and University policies. Ability to evaluate and resolve complex problems. Ability to communicate effectively in routine and stressful situations. Detail oriented and highly organized. Nebraska NCIC telecommunications certification.
