Financial Coordinator 5906BR National Technical Institute for the Deaf NTID Office of the President -- RIT VP/Dean
Detailed Job Description This role is essential to the operation of the NTID President's Office and to the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs Office. The main purpose of this job is to ensure that financial transactions are executed according to NTID and RIT policies/procedures in order to maintain the fiscal integrity of NTID. This position manages the financial aspects of 15 operating, gift, endowment, special project and grant budgets. It also provides administrative support to other fundamental processes within the departments and their subdivisions serving as a resource for budget information and best practices for the college. This role provides direct support to the Executive Assistant to the President and manages NTID special projects and initiatives as assigned from inception to execution through project completion.
Manage all aspects of operating, gift, endowment, special project and grant budgets for the NTID President's Office, Associate Vice President's Office and their related subdivisions.
Manage 5-7 student employees of the NTID President's Office.
Manage online transactions for 5 department procurement cards; review and reconcile NTID President's Office card.
Serve as journal entry designee for NTID; review and process journal entries in Oracle for other NTID departments as assigned by the RIT accounting dept.
Manage NTID special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Manage 10 fully-furnished NTID apartments.
Provide full administrative and budget support to the Associate Dean for Teaching & Scholarship Excellence and the Director of the Center for Educational Research Partnerships.
Manage the NTID Information desk and phone line.
Order office supplies and maintain supply inventory.
Coordinate telephone installation/repairs and budget reporting.
Required Minimum Qualifications 5 years of work experience required. Experience should include successful management of budgets and demonstrated administrative skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills in a diverse, multicultural environment that incorporates a blend of Hearing and Deaf Cultures as well as multiple ethnic cultures.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, staff, colleagues and departments including training and consensus building.
Skilled in American Sign Language or willingness to learn.
Proficient with MS office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Proven ability to work with multiple deadlines and priorities with excellent time management and organizational skills.
