Experience managing personnel Experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and executing a variety of contracts and other agreements related to sponsored activity. Experience assisting faculty and staff in understanding and complying with regulations, policies, and rules. Experience communicating and facilitating discussions regarding negotiations. Experience coordinating issues related to sponsored projects such as export control, purchasing equipment, and intellectual property.
The Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer at Iowa State University has an opening for aÂ Negotiator within the Industry Contracts Team who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of, material transfer agreements, confidentiality agreements, andÂ possibly someÂ sponsored project contracts and other similar agreements on behalf of Iowa State University.
This Senior Negator manages a portfolio of sponsored contracts, material transfer agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other similar agreements on behalf of the University. Ensures compliance with applicable policies, agency guidelines, and government regulations.
The chosen candidate will
Negotiate, and execute a wide variety of contracts and other agreements related to sponsored activity.
Serve as a resource to faculty, staff and administrators in the management and operation of such projects.
Assist faculty and staff with understanding and compliance with regulations, policies and rules.
Communicate with faculty, staff, and sponsors on progress of negotiation on a regular basis.
Arrange meetings as appropriate to discuss ongoing negotiations and issues.
Implement training opportunities for ISU faculty and staff. Mentor junior OIPTT staff.
