The Staff Scientist will design, prototype, test, and analyze microbial monitoring devices and electrochemical reactors. The successful candidate will also take a lead in prototyping needs for other projects in the Hoffmann lab.
Design experimental studies on an electro-peroxone reactor (ULTRON) and Reactive Electrochemical Membrane (REM) reactors developed by the Hoffmann Group.
Evaluate the performance of ULTRON and REM in comparison with existing water and wastewater treatment technologies (e.g. physical, chemical, biological, electrochemical).
Assist commercial partners in the integration of the ULTRON and REM systems with their products.
Design and build laboratory and field-ready prototypes for a microbial testing platform developed by the Hoffmann Group.
Collect and analyze water and wastewater samples in the laboratory.
Assist in the technical writing of scientific research papers and technical reports.
Order supplies and equipment, as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
2 years of experience in a Chemistry or Environmental Engineering laboratory research environment.
CAD design skills through SolidWorks
Knowledge of electrochemical and mechanical experimental design.
