The School of Psychological Science is seeking a Lab Manager. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 9-month, professional faculty position.
This position will provide research study coordination for various research studies. The position will be involved in all aspects of the designated research protocols, with a focus on day-to-day operational infrastructure. A good understanding of the research, experience working in a research setting, as well as procedural aspects of data collection from human participants in sensitive protocols is necessary. This position will be providing technical/research support to the lab, working closely with the PI, graduate students, and undergraduate research assistants.
Typically requires Master's Degree in field relevant to program focus.
Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related field.
Must be able to work independently as a team leader using initiative and good judgment.
Must have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to identify potential areas of weakness where problems may develop, and the ability to develop creative or alternative solutions.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have strong computing skills including fluency with the Windows OS and Microsoft office.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position will involve some non-standard hours as required by research study protocols and research participant availability. These non-standard hours will involve some evening duties (no more than 3 days a week) monitoring research participants as well as rare (less than once a month) weekend hours if selected research participant populations require it. Travel is not required but possible if person in position elects it (e.g., research conference travel).
