The Assistant/Associate/Full Professor will serve as the Principal Investigator and Director of a laboratory that will focus on basic and/or translational biomedical cancer research in the fields of cancer immunology, tumor microenvironment, metastasis, and/or metabolism. In addition, the incumbent selected will be expected to train graduate students, residents, and/or postdoctoral fellows in research methodology and to participate in departmental, Cancer Center, and university service and our teaching mission as part of the academic community.
PhD, MD or equivalent. Minimum of three years of postdoctoral research in academic environment in Biomedical Sciences. Experience in the fields of cancer immunology, tumor microenvironment, metastasis, and/or metabolism. Capability of functioning as a student mentor with strong organizational and administrative skills. Excellent communication skills as demonstrated by lead and/or senior authorship of published research communications. Experience with grant applications. Record of grant support at the national level for established faculty.
Demonstration of academic capability through research experience that has resulted in published findings. Prior history of obtaining R01-level federal support for cancer research for established investigators. Teaching experience.
