Responsible for supervising The Grace Doherty Library, including all library public service functions, and student workers during the evening hours. He/she also has the responsibility of closing and securing the library at closing. Reports to the Assistant Director of Library Services/Head of User and Access Services. Work Schedule will be: 4:00 pm - 12:00 during the academic year; 6:00 pm - 2:00 am during finals week; 8:30 am - 4:30 pm during the summer months.
Essential Job Functions:
Supervise forty-plus library student workers in the evening;
Manage and maintain student scheduling for student workers;
Monitor study room reservations;
Assist Head of User and Access Services with the management of shelf reading and inventory of books;
Assist students with research, in absence of professional librarians;
Provide desktop support for library standalone computers, as well as support for circulating information and communication technology, and assist with printing issues and malfunctions;
Supervise student worker absences and maintain and manage the sub list;
Assist with all equipment use in the library;
Assist Circulation Supervisor with reserves and electronic reserves;
Oversee interlibrary loan operation; supervise student workers in borrowing and lending materials to/from other libraries;
Close the library;
Assist with assessment of library space and usage;

Education and Experience
High School diploma required with some college experience needed. Supervisory experience in an academic setting preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
The Evening Supervisor must have the ability to learn to manage the online circulation system, as well as the campus learning management and the online room scheduling system and to adapt to technological change.
He/she must also be able to supervise and train student assistants and to work effectively with faculty, staff and other constituents of the College.
Familiarity with integrated library systems preferred.
Limited pushing, pulling, lifting. Lifting would not exceed 20 lbs.
