Housing Dining Hospitality (HDH) is a self-funded, large and complex campus department consisting of 7 divisions, with over 700 career employees, 1000 to 1200 student employees and an annual operating budget greater than $200 million. HDH provides housing for approximately 18,000 undergraduates, grad students, faculty, staff and their families in over 400 buildings covering over 8 million sq. ft. HDH is in the midst of implementing an aggressive building plan which added 10,000 new beds in the next 10 years and will almost double our square footage by 2032.
Currently, HDH houses 38% of UCSD's enrolled students with a goal of housing 65% by 2032. HDH provides maintenance and repair, contract meals/meal plan management, as well as retail food service, conference services and catering services to residents, students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
The Associate Director of Administrative Services, 100% Career is responsible for providing leadership and strategic planning for the Administrative Services department of Housing, Dining and Hospitality and reports directly to the Director of SPHA. Incumbent is responsible for accurately forecasting and analyzing trends in student housing and effectively implementing both short and long term strategies to deal with increases or fluctuations in demand to insure full occupancy. Oversees revenue management functions within Administrative Services including billing, collections and account receivable management of $250 million annually. Must supervise, lead and develop a team that utilizes state of the art technology to market and track approximately 15,000 residential accounts annually.
This includes development of both print and web-based materials and the establishment and maintenance of on-line processes which tracks housing applications, contracts, payments and refunds and room/space assignments as it relates to billing. Incumbent also oversees the administration of the Triton Card Accounts Services Office, which includes 65,000 Triton Card student, staff, and guest accounts. Administration includes program analysis and development. Must plan and supervise the execution of strategies to enhance the efficiency and quality of the administrative functions of the department.
The Associate Director has the responsibility to oversee a staff of 17 full time employees, an annual operating budget of $1,800,000 and provide strategic input, analysis and program direction as it relates to departmental business operations, facilities, personnel and customer service standards. The incumbent uses advanced administrative concepts and organization objectives to resolve complex issues. Regularly works on highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
