Develop and document an in-depth understanding of the accounts assigned by analyzing and reconciling activity in the University's cash and other balance sheet accounts, including global operations. Participate actively in various improvement projects, such as the ongoing project to fully implement an automated cash reconciliation process. Provide ongoing assistance to both internal and external customers. Cross-train various reconciliations and related reports, as assigned.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Accounting or credit equivalent
Required Experience: 3+ years relevant experience with analysis and reconciliation of large, complex cash accounts or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years relevant experience with analysis and reconciliation of large, complex cash accounts or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work with individuals at all levels. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as they apply to cash flows. Ability to use and lead others using cash reconciliation software. Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with PeopleSoft, fame (the University's general ledger system), Hyperion Essbase/Smartview and UDW+ software
