The Department of Athletics has two part-time positions available to serve in the role of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. Reporting to the Director of Strength & Conditioning, the incumbents will provide training to 3-4 varsity teams. The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coaches will educate our student-athletes on all fronts related to sport performance (movement, strength training, conditioning, nutrition, recovery, etc.) to physically prepare them for competition. The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coaches will design and implement evidence-based programs specific to the student-athletes' needs. The incumbents will assess and reassess progress to gain insight on physical preparedness via performance testing and various forms of athlete monitoring. The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coaches will collaborate with all Athletics' staff to ensure student-athlete health and wellness is always the primary focus. One position will be responsible for two teams in the morning hours exceeding no more than 19 hours per week, while the second position will be responsible for two teams in the later afternoon hours exceeding no more than 19 hours per week.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field is required.
A Master's Degree is preferred. One to three years of working with collegiate student-athletes, preferably at the Division 1 level is preferred. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association or Strength & Conditioning Coach certified from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, and/or USA Weightlifting Level 1 Certified. CPR/AED certified is also preferred.
