This is a full-time, managerial position, and days of work and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Note: This position is in the “NL” category of employment (non-fixed work week) and individuals in this role have no claim or entitlement to time off or cash compensation for hours worked beyond their normal schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. It is the policy of the College to grant hour for hour compensatory time off, with advance approval, only when employees are required to work on a regularly scheduled day off, Saturday, Sunday or a holiday. Time earned must be used within one fiscal year from the time it is earned.

Under the direction of the Director of Infrastructure, the manager is responsible for the development of strategic and long range planning of college-wide media resources that support the overall mission of the college. The manger is also expected to collaboratively integrate the interests of the college administration, faculty and students to promote appropriate technological competencies. Supervise the Media section of Information Technology Services overseeing Academic, Administrative and Event technology needs.
Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of all campus media assets and making technology refresh plans.
Creates designs for space changes and new media in campus spaces.
Makes detailed purchase recommendations for designs and long term upgrades / replacements of all media inventory.
Hiring student aides and approving student time.
Managing the media staff and responsible for making sure all campus events are adequately staffed, including attendance at major campus events to manage staff (open house, graduation, accepted student days, various ceremonies, board meetings, etc).
Ensuring all media activity is properly logged in the campus ticketing system and that all media requests are handled in a timely manner.
Perform staff evaluations and help to grow employee skill sets.
Create and maintain project plans for all media related projects on campus.
Stepping in to any staffing shortage to ensure all events work smoothly.
Manage AV vendor relationships.
Manage all ‘as-builts’ for media installations on campus.
Work with all groups on campus to produce any video needs.
Support digital signage and bulk TV systems on campus.
Create and maintain standardization plan for campus media systems.
Mentoring media staff to improve skill sets.
Programming media control systems, including Crestron and Extron, on campus.
Other media related projects as needed.
A Bachelor’s degree in communication, project management or computer related field.
2-5 years of significant media system management or project management experience is required.
Experience in the media industry working with diverse audio and video systems.
Experience managing diverse A/V systems
Experience with audio and video over IP, Dante, Room control systems, audio and video mixers
Experience in supporting media for an ‘Events and Conferences’ environment.
Experience working with the design, installation and maintenance of Audio/Video environments.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to manage deadlines, personnel and budgets.
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of individual audio and video components in enterprise distribution systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of Audio/Visual equipment.
Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills, a strong customer focus, and excellent skills in administration, organization, negotiation, writing, presentation and training.
Ability to effectively manage multiple operations and projects, establish workload priorities, balance diverse tasks, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and deal with confidential and sensitive matters in a professional manner.
