Job Description Summary: Deliver high level instruction to University students on flute and/or piccolo as required for students' degree program. Devise and develop a course of study appropriate for each student according to their degree program. Degree programs include: BM in Music Performance, Bachelor of Music Education Instrumental Emphasis, Bachelor of Arts in Music. Also instruct students who pursue the Minor in Music and those who are pursue a major course of study outside of Music. The instructor will be responsible to deliver 15 lessons per semester, monitor progress of students toward the completion of the Instrumental Music Jury at the completion of the semester.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Master of Music Degree in Flute Performance or appropriate Performance Certificate in Flute . Functional/Technical Skills* Demonstrated ability as a performer and teacher of Flute/Piccolo. Requisite Experience* - Minimum three years of successful experience teaching Flute and Piccolo at the University/Professional level
Essential Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Develop syllabi appropriate to each level of degree instruction - Develop appropriate and progressive repertoire for each student - Deliver weekly lessons of 30 or 60-minutes weekly to each student Provide lessons on the campus of Webster University - Evaluate and develop weekly progress of students - Prepare Performance Majors for annual recitals Prepare all students for semester performance juries - Attend and evaluate students at semester performance juries Secondary Duties and Responsibilities* Assist students in preparing repertoire for Wind Ensemble and/or Orchestra performance Standard Schedule: Lessons will be scheduled for a weekly basis. Lessons will generally be delivered M-F between 8:00 am 5:00 pm
