The Department of Counseling and Higher Education at Ohio University (OHIO) invites applications for a nine-month, Visiting Assistant Professor position in Counselor Education for Academic Year 2021-2022. The position will begin on August 16, 2021.
At the master's degree level, the OHIO Counselor Education Program offers CACREP-accredited specializations in Clinical Mental Health, Clinical Mental Health/Clinical Rehabilitation, and School Counseling. The OHIO Counselor Education program offers a doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision. The ideal candidate has the background and knowledge to contribute to the 8 CACREP core content areas and to the doctoral Counselor Education & Supervision program. Responsibilities include:
Teaching and Service are required elements of this position.
Teaching in graduate courses at the Master's and doctoral level;
Advising and mentoring master's and doctoral students;
Supervising practicum and internship students;
Participating in program, department, college, and university committees;
An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP- accredited program; we would consider candidates who are ABD.
Prior counseling work experience;
Prior college teaching experience;
Professional identity with the counseling profession through membership in professional counseling organizations;
Licensed or license eligible as a school counselor or professional counselor (LPC) in Ohio;
A concentration in School Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the master's or doctoral level;
Evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g. published articles, book chapters, books, and/or professional conference presentations);
Experience with online teaching;
