The pharmacy technician position is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures.
Minimum Education:â¢Graduation from accredited Pharmacy Technician School preferred â¢High School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum Experience/Knowledge:â¢At least 1 year of oncology experience preferredâ¢Performs dose calculations, double checks accuracy of product selection and assures performance of both aseptic and hazardous drug compounding techniques that require the use of a USP797/800 compliant clean room and personal protective equipment to reduce exposure and contamination while maintaining sterility of the final productRequired License/Certification:â¢Pharmacy Technician Registration with California State Board of Pharmacy.â¢Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
