The Senior Systems Analyst will analyze, design, develop, test, document, maintain and support applications and act as liaison between administrative, academic, and research departments and clients; software vendors and developers; and Information Technology.
The twenty-four hour scope of the academic medical system's operations requires this position to be available evenings, nights, and weekends to respond to calls regarding questions or problems with the College's computing systems.
Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases
Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements
Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow
Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements
Manage the set-up and configuration of systems
Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures, and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process
Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed
Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor systems health, gather system statistics, and troubleshoot reported errors and alarms
Perform design, implementation, and upgrades of information systems to meet the business and user needs
Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance
Facilitates user departments obtaining new computer systems or modifications to existing systems by understanding the functions of the user department and analyzing current processing and procedures, advising them on appropriate alternatives in meeting their computing needs, and assisting them in the preparation of associated requests.
Provides automation of administrative tasks by designing computer information systems which effectively perform those tasks.
Effectively resolves complex problems by conducting a thorough analysis of the problems and employing appropriate strategies for resolution.
Assists in the formulation of implementation strategies for new tools and computer technologies by participating in the evaluation and testing of such tools and technologies.
Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required by the Assistant Dean for Einstein Information Technology
