The Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) is a 35 bed unit with 27 acute care beds and 8 Bone Marrow Transplant beds providing comprehensive care to patients who have been diagnosed with a malignancy. The Hematology Oncology Service treats hematological disorders and patients whose malignancy may be treated with chemotherapy, radiation alone, or in combination. The BMT services include cellular therapy and clinical trials.

Responsibilities Registered Nurses in the Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at UC Davis Medical Center provide care to adult and pediatric patients with a variety of medical needs. Patient conditions include: a wide variety of oncological diagnoses including, but not limited to leukemia and solid organ malignancies, hematologic disorders, chemotherapy administration, tumor lysis syndrome, sepsis, cellular therapy and clinical trials.
At least 1 year of RN oncology experience.
ONS chemo card.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Knowledge of current trends in nursing.
Commitment to excellence in patient care.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates accountability and professionalism.
Adapts to change in a positive, professional and productive manner.
Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and documentation.
Knowledge of performance improvement and evidence-based practice.
Basic computer skills.
Hem/One and or stem cell therapy experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Reference report reflect an overall meets or exceeds rating.
Ability to work overtime, float to other areas and work weekends and holidays.
Ability to safely lift 25 lbs. and assist in moving patients and stand on feet over extended periods.
