What will you be doing in this role?
The Cardiovascular Radiology tech (RT) assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center (CVIC) primarily for Electrophysiology procedures including but not limited to Electrophysiology Study, RF/Cryo Ablation, Pacemaker, and ICD implants. The RT performs the radiological procedures at a technical level and is responsible for positioning the patient and fluoroscopic equipment as needed to obtain optimum views of all relevant anatomy during procedures. He/she is responsible for monitoring radiation exposure levels during all procedures and ensuring that technical factors are appropriate for the given procedures. He/she will be responsible for hemodynamic/cardiac rhythm monitoring, scrubbing, circulating, operating recording systems, and pacing stimulators. He/she archives all digital images in the Lab and is responsible for equipment setup and operation within the department that may be required for given procedures. He/she is responsible for observing all health and safety standards as required.
High school graduate/GED required.
Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology Technology training in an accredited radiological program/school
Technical school graduate as Cardiovascular Technician and/or Certificate of completion from equivalent training program
Current AART and CRT Certification
Minimum two (2) years Radiology or has completed educational training involving clinical rotations experience in either Cath Lab/Special Procedures
Arrhythmia recognition and hemodynamic monitoring skills.
May qualify for RT II if you have more than 3 years of experience and a specialty certification.
