The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The Team Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for the scheduling concerns and coordination of patient related appointments in Infusion Services and Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). The TC will interface frequently with the Clinic Staff and Infusion/CTU charge nurses.
This position is responsible for coordinating incoming calls related to same day requests, communicating effectively and proper follow-through based on process guidelines.
This position requires considerable independence and prioritization, understanding of flow and scheduling systems. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Professionalism and excellent communication skills is pivotal to this role.
Coordinates patient schedule with Clinic TC and Infusion/CTU charge nurses.
Communicates effectively to all team members via telephone and email in an effective and timely manner.
Works collaboratively with other Team Coordinators as needed to assure accurate scheduling
Documents information on all communications in a complete and accurate manner.
Understands Infusion/CTU flow and is able to prioritize and problem solve request with ease.
Supports goals and objectives of the InfusionServices by participation as a team member in projects and/or work assignments.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job in order to carry out the primary responsibilities.
High School graduate or equivalent
One year of customer service experience
Ability to work independently, organizing, and prioritizing concurrent responsibilities and demands.
Ability to work in a high pressure, time-sensitive, and complex health care environment.
Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and empathy in an emotionally challenging environment.

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS)
Previous medical office/hospital experience coordinating physician appointment and patient services
Familiarity with medical terminology
Prior experience utilizing an electronic medical record system and/or an automated scheduling system
Prior experience working with Radiology Information Systems, such as Epic Radiant, PACS, or Life Image
Interest in learning about Medical and Breast Imaging
