Related experience in a leadership position in a college environment. Experience as a Resident or Graduate Assistant. Experience working with academic initiatives; undergraduate students; staff supervision, selection and training; and judicial process. Experience working with, actively engaging with and supporting under-represented student populations. Experience with student organization advising. Experience with crisis intervention and/or front-line response to highly complex incidents.
Summary As a live-in apartment/residence hall position (on-campus housing), responsible for creating a living and learning community that contributes to the personal and academic success of residents. Supervises student staff.
Example of Duties â¢ Recommends and develops use of space that promotes academic achievement. â¢ Assists in developing an environment that supports the community living standards. â¢ Assists students in their academic and social adjustments to the university. â¢ Advises and counsels students in developing academic and interpersonal competence. â¢ Interprets and administers university policies and procedures. â¢ Oversees the conduct system in the residence community that includes hearing student disciplinary cases and administering sanctions. â¢ Collaborates with academic departments and builds relationships with Learning Communities. â¢ Prepares and submits reports related to residence life operations. â¢ Opens, closes and secures the community at the beginning and end of each semester and during break periods. â¢ Meets with dining, custodial, maintenance and facilities staff to ensure quality service delivery, completion of repairs, etc. â¢ Supervises Resident Assistant staff.
