The ideal candidate for this administrative support position will compile, process, and maintain medical records of University Health Services' (UHS) patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, and ethical guidelines, in addition to state and federal laws and regulations. The incumbent is responsible for protecting the privacy, security, and release of medical records to ensure confidentiality is maintained within the guidelines of HIPAA and other appropriate regulations. This position requires excellent customer service skills to assist with inquiries from students, patients, staff, visitors, etc. both on the phone and in person.
Incumbent will welcome and check-in patients/clients and visitors in a timely, respectful and courteous manner. Will handling heavy telephone volumes and ensure that callers or those presenting in person are assisted in a timely and efficiently. Will verify eligibility for care and treatment. Individual will be responsible for collecting payment and authorizing patient tickets for billing and must work within all HIPAA privacy regulations. Incumbent will facilitate efficient scheduling of patients/clients within UHS and community-based referrals, follow up and close referrals according to the policy. Position requires an individual that is highly engaged, demonstrated good judgment, critical thinking skills and who can quickly make well-informed and intelligent decisions.

Bachelor's degree or high school diploma and 4 years of related experience.
