To provide primary administrative and clerical support to the Executive Director PVAMU, Northwest Houston Center. The work location for this position is at our Northwest Houston Campus, located at 9449 Grant Road, Houston, TX 77070.
Answers and directs phone calls to appropriate personnel at NWHC and directs calls to main campus as needed.
Greets visitors and students ensuring sign-in procedures are followed.
Assists clients (students, faculty, visitors, etc.) and directs them as needed.
Responds to academic program inquiries and directs to appropriate personnel as needed.
Creates and maintains (using spreadsheets) database and records. Â Prepares documents (including electrically), presentations, and communication materials.
Drafts correspondence as directed by management team. Creates, edits, and maintains the NWHCâ™s periodic newsletter.
Maintains office supplies and keeps up-to-date equipment inventory. Assists with upkeep of social media platforms.
Supports management team in planning, implementing, and monitoring of projects/activities.
Serves as a liaison and record keeper for departmental equipment and service contracts.
Supports administrative team and/or advisor(s) in providing service to students or other clients.
Assist with special events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
This position works non-traditional hours and on the weekends. Rotating shift 8am-5pm and 12pm-9pm and Saturday hours from 8am-5pm.Â
Bilingual in Spanish.
