GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Nursing Faculty Member, Evening/Weekend Option (full-time, tenure-track) position includes teaching, advising, and college service responsibilities that take place during day, evening, and weekend hours. Classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Clinicals are held on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. College campus labs are Monday or Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. The position will be filled for the 2021 Fall Semester. Selected daytime hours are required for team and program meetings and college service responsibilities. Notice of team and program meetings are provided in advance.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Provide instruction in the classroom and the clinical/campus laboratory using multiple instructional strategies and integrating computer technology with instruction.
Plan, supervise, and evaluate learning experiences for students in the clinical area.
Utilize patient simulation in the teaching-learning process.
Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing curriculum as a member of the nursing teaching team.
Coordinate and effectively maintain relationships with health agencies utilized for clinical experiences.
Hold at least four posted office hours per week on at least four days and schedule conferences with individual students to discuss their progress in the program.
Provide academic advising to assigned students.
Attend and participate in all division, department, nursing program and nursing course team meetings and planning activities, including selected subcommittees within the Nursing Program.
Actively participate in college service opportunities.
Maintain professional growth and remain current in nursing practice.
Assist in preparation for nursing and college-wide accreditation visits.
Participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes at the course, program, and college levels.
Assist in the maintenance of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing regulations for nursing programs.
Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of program and college-related policies.
Participate in the systematic evaluation of all components of the Nursing Program.
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or eligibility for Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure.
Master's degree in nursing from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution.
Broad experience in nursing including experience in acute care and adult medical and/or surgical settings.
Recent teaching experience in a college-level nursing program or equivalent teaching experience, such as student teaching.
Commitment to support a student-centered, outcome-based approach to education.
Experience using active and collaborative learning strategies in both classroom and/or clinical learning opportunities.
Experience with the integration of technology and alternative delivery systems of instruction in the teaching-learning process.
Experience with and a strong knowledge base in the assessment of student learning outcomes and developing curriculum based on the outcomes.
Experience with curriculum development, including curriculum changes in nursing.
Ability to meet the challenges of adult students with diverse backgrounds.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Appreciation for and commitment to working in a global, multicultural academic setting.
Familiarity with MA BORN licensing, NECHE and ACEN accreditation processes.
Skill with the integration of both high and moderate fidelity human patient simulations in the teaching-learning process.

COMPENSATION: Full-time MCCC position. Salary range of $60,000 to $84,665. Actual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, determined by a formula-based classification system, consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program.
