Summary of Duties: Under general supervision of the Director, the Business Services Specialist performs a variety of complex and unique duties to Business Services. Responsibilities include evaluating and processing tasks in the areas of purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contracts, position creation, and travel while adhering to critical timelines and in accordance with university regulations and procedures. The incumbent serves as a functional expert in business service processes and will provide support and guidance to colleagues, staff, faculty, and others on the Tri-Cities campus. This includes all processes associated with the purchase and procurement of goods and services, processing of invoices and payments, creation and approval of spend authorizations and expense reports, and verification and approval of purchasing card transactions. This position also provides back-up support to co-workers and supervisor as needed in all areas of business services including Cashier responsibilities.The Business Services Specialist is responsible for providing effective and congenial customer service while serving as the functional subject matter expert on Workday processes and procedures. This position requires the ability to multi-task and problem-solve in a fast-paced, team-oriented, environment. Required Qualifications:Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist 1 AND 15 quarter hours OR 10 semester hours of college level accounting; OR equivalent education/experience. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience processing travel documents and purchase orders.
Experience with MS Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
Experience with Workday.
Experience working within the State RCW (revised code of Washington) purchasing guidelines.
