The Student Accounts Representative/Assistant Director of Student Accounts provides professional counseling services to students and parents on a continuous basis; has specific managerial responsibility for graduate programs and other assigned bursar functions (refunds, invoicing, collections, etc.). Works very closely with other offices throughout the University. Must have proper cash management skills and be comfortable evaluating student accounts individually and in bulk.
Title and salary will be commensurate with experience.
Provide professional student accounts counseling to students and families. Phone, voicemail, email, text, in-person, and other emerging platforms of counseling required
Managerial responsibility for counseling graduate students and helping shape the service provided to them by the Office of Student Finance
Be comfortable working with exclusively online programs and having an of understanding the nuances with the online population
Will provide the opportunity to work remotely and possibly keep hours other than the published office hours
Assist the Director of Student Accounts with creating, managing, and editing Student Accounts online and print materials
Participate in Student Accounts related presentations including orientation sessions for graduate programs both in-person and online
Approves weekly student refunds for graduate students
Researches and prepares reports for the University Director of Student Finance
Run reports, process loans, and track accounts receivable for graduate programs
Work closely with the Student Aid staff paying attention to resolving student inquiries regarding loan disbursements and student refunds
Work closely with Registrar and Admission staff on a daily basis as needed
Work at other campuses in NYC, as needed
Experience & Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree required and 3 years of related experience is required
Must have thorough and working knowledge of cash management and student account management rules and regulations
Must be comfortable working with various computer software programs and platforms within the University and externally, which may include Banner, Touchnet, Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Argos and other 3rd party websites
