Assures clinical placements with preceptors and/or clinical affiliates for all Graduate students (MSN, DNP, post graduate certificates);
Functions as a liaison to the CON Nurse-Managed Clinics to maximize utilization of the clinics for ETSU graduate students;
Interprets and matches the needs of students and preceptors assuring appropriate clinical experience for the students;
Assures that both preceptors and students meet affiliate and college requirements for clinical placements. Clinical Placement
Updates Clinical Placement and Preceptor Guidelines annually in collaboration with Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Graduate Directors. Distributes new information to all parties involved.
Assures clinical/practicum placements with preceptors and/or clinical affiliates for all graduate students.
Organizes and coordinates clinical/practicum placements in the CON Nurse-Managed Clinics to maximize utilization of the clinics for ETSU graduate students in conjunction with the Office of Practice
Maintains practicum placement records for each student assuring appropriate and diverse clinical experiences.
Effectively manages Project Concert data base for practicum placement and record keeping.
Works with designated Student Services personnel to assure that college and affiliate agreement requirements are met prior to the student's clinical placement.
Facilitates and establishes contact information and contracts required between the educational institution and clinical affiliates with designated Student Services personnel.
Collaborates with Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Graduate Directors to analyze evaluations of clinical placement sites and the preceptors each semester. Preceptors
Collaborates with designated Student Services personnel in the maintenance of the preceptor database including confirmation of appropriate credentials.
Ensures recognition of preceptors at the end of each semester in cooperation with clinical course coordinator
Engages in public relations and activities to identify and recruit a cadre of dedicated clinical preceptors and clinical sites for graduate students.
In collaboration with concentration coordinators, interprets the role of the preceptor to affiliates/prospective preceptors.
