Nutrition Services has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME , DAY SHIFT, Wellness and Technology Manager . UWMC's Patient Nutrition department has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Manager of Technology, Wellness, and Room Service Call Center. The individual in this role will manage, evaluate, plan, organize, and facilitate all department technology and software programs, department wellness, and the room service call center. Works closely with supervisors, managers, and director to integrate and create efficiencies and new services associated with department software technology. Works closely with manager of clinical dietetics and patient room service managing the room service call center. Establishes criteria for department wellness program for both the retail and patient room service areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES: · Participates in the planning and managing of patient room service, technology, and wellness. Maintains budget monitoring procedures. · Contributes to the development of budgetary objectives for all technology, wellness, and call center related projects. · Contributes to development and maintenance of a comprehensive food service system, food and equipment purchasing, food preparation and food distribution. · Creates department standards and criteria for wellness in both the retail and patient room service areas. Makes menu recommendations and collaborates with the managers of clinical dietetics, patient room service, and retail service. · Creates a service culture in the call center and develops techniques to improve patient satisfaction. · Maintains food service operations technology data bases to include: FSS, NSS. · Responsible for knowing and teaching others how to use the various technology data bases. · Provides overall management consistent with CQI philosophy for supervisory staff. Develops and fosters a culture that promotes recognition of individual, team, and department-wide accomplishments · Assures sanitation standards are being maintained and assures compliance with all departmental procedures and regulatory agencies. · Participates in planning and working on department wide projects as assigned by the Director. · Participates with annual education and trainings for technology program and makes recommendations for improvement. · Responsible for managing project teams to implement technology systems. · Develops food service policies and procedures consistent with Medical Center goals and departmental objectives and standards. · Establishes and maintains effective working relationships in the Medical Center. · Recruits, interviews, selects, and evaluates Food and Nutrition Services staff. Provides professional development for staff. · Assures that regulation safety standards are met throughout the department. · Participates in Medical Center activities/committees/quality action teams, acts as liaison to external agencies, as required. · Assures that appropriate training is provided both in orienting staff and on an annual basis as per OSHA, JCAHO, DOH etc. requirements. · Provides staff with appropriate training regarding customer service and continuous quality improvement. Sets an example within the department for using quality improvement tools and techniques. · Writes and maintains the wellness site on the intranet and integrates wellness initiative into retail and patient room service to include purchasing policies, and health education for staff and patients · Reviews new products and recipes for compliance of wellness and technology requirements. Promotes progress across all pillars: finance, service, quality, and employer of choice · Functional and administrative supervision exercised over approximately 15 (9 FTE) supervisory and food service employees. · Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS · Bachelor of Science Degree or Master’s Degree in Nutrition · Registered Dietitian status and two years relevant experience · Experience in supervisory role · Two or more years of experience in healthcare food services preferred · Strong communication skills, ability to make independent, quality judgements and decisions required · An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
