POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE , Chemistry , to work in the Pentelute laboratory on developing folding and purification methods for isolation of synthetic proteins chemically produced in-house with fully automated flow technology. The project aims to decipher the stereochemical determinants of protein-protein interactions by investigating the peptide binding modes to synthetic proteins. Will leverage Pentelute Lab protein synthesis and folding technologies combined with its industry partner's rapid peptide binder discovery engine. Will interact in a vibrant, diverse, and highly interdisciplinary lab environment comprised of chemical biologists, organic chemists, biochemists, data scientists, and engineers. Responsibilities will include establishing the folding conditions for the synthetic protein chains produced, purifying and isolating the folded synthetic proteins by a variety of chromatographic methods, and characterizing them in solution; operating and maintaining the instruments used for biopurification and protein characterization; and training lab members on the new biopurification methodologies developed.

Job Requirements REQUIRED : Ph.D. in chemical biology, biochemistry, or a related field; a strong track record in protein folding and purification techniques; experience with size exclusion chromatography(SEC), protein gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), ion exchange chromatography, and fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) methods; excellent communication skills; and willingness to mentor and train graduate students and other lab member.
