The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University is seeking to immediately hire an experienced Research Software Engineer to develop programs that will run on mobile and desktop devices including Windows and Android / Apple phones, tablets, and desktop PCs.
The Research Software Engineer will help develop a software backend to the iPancreas platform. The Research Software Engineer will work together with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and medical professionals to develop control software for a drug delivery (insulin and glucagon) device using data from implanted glucose sensors for the purpose of helping people with diabetes.
There is also a telehealth component for remotely assessing the performance of the device within patient homes.
Bachelors Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field and 1-3 years relevant experience
Experience as a software developer
Strong math skills
Experience with Windows C#.NET, mobile phone and .NET compact framework, Java, Objective C, mobile app development
Bachelors Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
5 years of experience developing Windows C#.NET, C++, mobile phone and .NET compact framework applications
Experience developing software for medical products
Experience developing remote monitoring software for in-home health care applications that encourages independent living for older adults
Experience developing embedded systems firmware in C/assembly language for devices such as Atmel or Microchip
Experience developing networked applications
Experience developing products that are currently in use
Experience with Java or Objective C
Experience developing in Java, PHP/PERL
