SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY MANAGER ENGINEER , Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health (J-Clinic) , to play a key role in developing an open-source community to harness contributions from the broad AI and medical IT community to translate AI advances from the J-Clinic into clinical care. Will lead a small team to develop integrations to ingest data from hospital systems and efficiently deploy AI tools; establish contributor guidelines/tutorials, prioritize responsiveness to contributor issues and pull requests, moderate discussions, and review and incorporate contributions from the community; contribute to hands-on-development and lead others in growing the platform; lead the testing and maintenance of data management and the integration with hospital systems; and develop a sustainable framework for active open-source community involvement.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : B.S. or higher in computer science, machine learning, or related engineering field; industry experience applying machine learning to at least two data types (e.g., text, video, audio, time-series, etc.); experience leading open-source projects and managing technical contributions; five years' professional software development experience; demonstrated ability to write production-quality code; proficiency with Python; experience with software development practices (including git-based version control, CI/CD, etc.); experience reviewing, managing, and guiding open-source contributions to an open-source project; virtualization and containerization experience (e.g., virtual machines, Docker); experience working with open-source contribution ecosystem programs/events; evidence of writing for blogs, social media, open-source documentation, etc.; strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, organizational decision-making, and written and verbal English communication skills; ability to work in a highly variable, dynamic, and unstructured environment across all levels+; meticulous attention to detail; and experience with Git and GitHub or other social open-source coding platforms (BitBucket, GitLab).
