UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a VARIABLE DAYS, PART-TIME, REGISTERED NURSE in the PACU DEPARTMENT. The Registered Nurse is a licensed practitioner who uses the nursing process to provide patient care. This includes exercising independent nursing judgment in managing the care of patients with complex health problem(s) and collaborating with patient, family and other healthcare providers/disciplines to optimize the patient’s return to health and promote independence in self-care. Supervises and coordinates the work of ancillary healthcare personnel.
Responsibilities Develops a written plan of care including measurable expected outcomes, monitors and evaluates the patient’s responses, documents interventions, evaluates progress, and revises the plan of care as necessary Provides safe, therapeutic, cost-effective patient care Provides direct patient care to an assigned group of patients Administers medications, starts IVs, performs bedside tests, procedures, and treatments Collects, records, and analyzes assessment data such as patient health data, diagnoses, responses and problems, vital signs, imaging and lab results, etc Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of infection/exposure control plans, medication safety, safe lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment Manages and maintains equipment in the patient care environment Consults, coordinates, and collaborates effectively with patients, family members, and other members of the health care team Seeks to continually increase skills and knowledge in nursing practice Maintains compliance with all mandatory requirements Coordinates patient flow for assigned patients, delegates appropriately, including monitoring and follow through Supervises and coordinates activities of ancillary healthcare personnel
Requirements Current unrestricted WA license Completion of an accredited school of nursing program Minimum of three months of prior RN experience
Desired BSN preferred Acute care, ICU, ED nursing experience preferred
