The Nurse Manager manages all clinical Cardiac Cath Lab and departmental RN operations, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently under the direction of USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agency requirements. The Nurse Manager holds 24-hour accountability for the quality of patient care, efficiency of operations, and human resources management for area(s) assigned. Â The Cath Lab Nurse Manager is a proven leader in both clinical and operational areas with an emphasis on the operational environment.Â This individual supports the Chief Nursing Officer and Imaging Director, working alongside the Imaging Manager in providing, oversight and delivery of safe, high quality patient care; development of staff team; quality improvement and growth of department services; leadership in organizational planning and collaboration; management of efficient services with meaningful and valuable outcomes.Â Practices in compliance with regulatory requirements including CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, CDPH regulations, DNV-GL/NIAHO standards, etc.
S/he will strive to achieve the optimal patient experience in a cost-effective manner, while applying evidenced-based leadership and practice. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the provision of safe patient care, in a manner that is consistent with the professional standards and hospital policies.Â The Nurse Manger promotes a positive and professional environment; supervises department nurses and front line staff; maintains a stable and productive staff; involves staff in decisions that impact the clinics; makes data driven decisions; other duties as assigned. S/he will role model performance and behaviors that are consistent with the values of the organization, furthering its mission, vision and strategic plan. The Nurse Manager will also direct nursing practice, education, and services.Â Serves as a personal contact for physicians, staff, and outside departments in order to address problems, issues or concerns that require attention.Â
Minimum Education: Graduation from Registered Nurse Program BSN desired (if not upon hire, will obtain within 5 years preferred) Masterâs preferred Completion of unit supervisor or management training program preferredMinimum Experience/Knowledge: Minimum of two (2) yearsâ experience in a leadership position (manager, supervisor, or charge nurse) required, specifically in a Cardiac Cath Lab, with at least four (4) yearsâ experience as an RN required. Experience in the field of Invasive Cardiology preferred Experience in Acute setting preferred (3+ years) Must be computer literate in Outlook, Word and Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service. Excellent human resource management skills.Required License/Certification: Required RN - Valid California Registered Nurse License. BLS - Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association. ACLS - Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association. All certifications must be active effective date of hire/transfer unless otherwise indicated.
