The Prospect Development Analyst for University Advancement supports University fundraising initiatives by identifying, researching, and analyzing prospects for major gift cultivation and solicitation. This position reports to and receives direction from the Director of Donor Engagement. Successful candidates will be familiar with the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) skill set and statement of ethics. A background in research, higher education, fundraising, library science or related experiences would be beneficial but are not necessary as would knowledge and use of the Raiser's Edge database.
Proactive Prospect Identification (50%): Conduct prospect research identification on donor prospects to Drake University with the goal of identifying/qualifying new prospects monthly though prospect research identification, peer review, gift officer assessment, and other resources
Reactive Research Requests (25%): Provide prospect research data on donor prospects (individuals and/or corporations & foundations) as requested.
Record Maintenance (15%): Data entry including staff assignment changes, prospect management data, capacity ratings, engagement scores, research notes, and biographical data.
Report Preparation (5%): Prepare and disseminate monthly giving reports for the advancement team and various units across campus.
Track News & Publications (5%): Review resources and push out information on top donor prospects to Alumni & Development staff, Deans, University President's office, etc.
