The successful candidate will promote efficient delivery of multiple diagnostic imaging modalities in collaboration with the clinical services within the LVMC. The remaining effort may include development of a creative program of scholarship, didactic and laboratory teaching, academic service, and outreach activities. Required Minimum Qualifications:
Â· DVM or equivalent degree.
Â· Successful completion or active enrollment in an approved residency training program by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) and eligibility to participate in the Board Examination process.Â
Â·State of Iowa Veterinary License on or before the first day of employment.
Â· Board Certified by ACVR or ECVDI.
Â· Experience in both small and large animal radiology/diagnostic imaging.
Â· Expertise in advanced imaging.
Â· An advanced degree (MS, PhD or equivalent) or notable potential for scholarship through both manuscript publication/preparation and preparation/success in granting activity and national scholarly, clinical, or educational presentations.
Department/Program & College Description:
The successful candidate will join the LVMC clinical radiology/diagnostic imaging service which currently includes one tenured ACVR faculty and six radiology support staff.
Imaging equipment includes two small animal DR rooms (Eklin Canon 50G plate), an IR suite with Philips Multi-diagnost Eleva stationary C-arm fluoroscopy, a 1000mAs overhead tube plus wireless Sound NEXT DR for large animal imaging, a new Canon 32-slice LB Acquilion CT scanner, two Philips EPIQ ultrasound units (Epiq 7 & Epiq Elite), Enhanced Technologies Gamma Camera with new Oasis Acquisition and Processing software upgrade, a GE 1.5T Signa magnet with complete Explorer 25.1 software and RF coil uplift, and Fuji Synapse PACS system.
The LVMC is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide specialized care and comprehensive medical and surgical services for companion and large animals throughout Iowa and surrounding states.
