Summary of Position:
The Department of Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MFGE) invites applications for a 9-month, tenured-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level. Primary responsibilities include: preparing and delivering courses, utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met; and delivering courses in both classroom and an on-line format. Additionally, advising students, internship coordination, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees within the university. Teaching at regional satellite campuses may also be required, as well as working with student organizations. Faculty in the MFGE program are expected to teach a variety of courses across the curriculum, in both lower and upper undergraduate division courses. Topics include CAD/CAM, Machining (Manual & CNC), Industrial and Quality engineering, process planning, and engineering economics.

QUALIFICATION BY CREDENTIAL: Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline OR a master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or related discipline. QUALIFICATION BY TESTED EXPERIENCE: BS Engineering or Engineering Technology and MS Engineering or Engineering Technology and three (3) years hands-on experience in Manufacturing OR BS Engineering or Engineering Technology and MS (any) and five (5) years hands on experience in Manufacturing OR BS Engineering or Engineering Technology and eight (8) years hands on experience in Manufacturing and a subject matter expert in an area relevant to Manufacturing NOTE: Faculty hired under a qualification by tested experience must complete a Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering technology discipline OR a master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or related discipline to qualify for tenure.
Required Work Experience:
Required work experience is based on degree(s) held by applicant (see required education). Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with CAD/CAM, CNC machining applications. Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with manufacturing systems and methods.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:
Doctorate degree in manufacturing engineering or a related discipline. Teaching and/or industrial trainer experience, management experience in manufacturing engineering or an engineering discipline. Advanced working experience in CAD/CAM and machining processes. Quality Engineering Systems Engineering Experience teaching graduate level courses.
Delivering courses in both a classroom and an on-line format. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation, registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students) and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus. Preparing and delivering courses utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met. Student advising, internship coordination, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees within the university. Teaching at regional satellite campuses may also be required, as well as working with student organizations.
