The laboratory of Dr. Manu Ben Johny, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator (PI) of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics is seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Technician B. The laboratory investigates mechanisms of ion channel regulation and their role in cardiac and neurological disorders.
Maintenance of cell cultures.
Assist with molecular biology experiments including molecular cloning; Assist with DNA transfection.
Prepare reagents and buffers
Assist with electrophysiology and/or optical imaging experiments as needed.
General lab maintenance including ordering supplies, chemicals, instruments, and equipment, as well as maintain inventory and lab budget.
Other duties as required.
Interested and highly motivated candidates may also contribute to research projects.
Bachelorâ€™s in Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, or related disciplines, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with attention to accuracy and detail.
Prior experience with Tissue Culture, Molecular Biology, and/or Electrophysiology techniques.
