This position supports the Cultural Resource Centers (CRC) a department housed within the division of Global Diversity and Inclusion (GDI). This includes the Multicultural Student Center, La Casa Latina Student Center, Pacific Island, Asian, Asian American Student Center, Pan African Commons, Middle East, North African, South Asian Student Center, and the CRC team from the Native American Student & Community Center.
The Administrative Assistant will carry out a range of responsibilities that support program administration. Key duties include overseeing our front office reception, student employee human resources, the coordination of CRC-wide activities, communication and systems support, inventory and purchasing, and other duties as assigned. This person will also represent the CRCs on campus-wide committees and attend meetings within GDI as needed.
Direct experience, strong knowledge of, and familiarity with diverse populations including the Latino, African American, Asian American, Middle Eastern, Northern African, SW Asian, Russian, Disabled, Queer, Trans, Parenting, or other marginalized communities of people or protected classes.
Demonstrated proficiency with the Google Suite and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet goals and deadlines.
Ability to be self-directed and proactive in the performance of the positions duties and responsibilities.
Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment and work well with a diverse clientele.
Experience working in a front desk or reception role (for example, answering phones, providing information to customers, basic IT support and telecom requests).
Experience working in a culturally diverse setting.
Experience assisting with and overseeing student employee hiring, onboarding and training.
Experience working with students, student leadership, and student programming groups.
Ability to track inventory and place orders for operating/office supplies.
Experience with event planning and logistics (for example, quarterly gatherings, orientations, staff retreats, graduation ceremonies.)
Experience navigating social media technology.
Experience with website updates.
