MANAGER, COMPENSATION , Human Resources (HR) , to manage the compensation function, lead and/or oversees the administration of complex compensation projects/activities, maintain a portfolio of clients, and provide broad oversight to staff. Responsibilities include managing four compensation specialists; providing compensation consultation to clients, providing analytical expertise with regard to compensation guidelines, developing/evaluating job descriptions, and pay decision recommendations; conducting and/or ensuring market/equity analyses are occurring; working with HR colleagues on various compensation-related guidelines, projects, and reports; participating on or leading projects; attending assistant dean's meeting(s) to discuss/build consensus on compensation-related matters; assisting with and/or taking the lead on developing materials for Salary Subcommittee and/or other senior leaders; collaborating with the director on evaluating where cross-training should occur so major deliverables have back-ups; collaborating with compensation staff on annual evaluation surveys used for market pricing of jobs and revising participation as needs evolve; annual meetings with HR leads from schools/areas to assess compensation needs and making recommendations on analyses, reports, training and/or other tools that could benefit MIT community; serving as back up to the director; keeping abreast of federal and state/local legislation and developing and implementing processes to ensure compliance and keeping staff informed of changes, including developing and providing training; and other duties as needed.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least seven years' experience in compensation, including knowledge of applicable regulations; strong interpersonal, presentation, problem-solving, and analytical skills; meticulous attention to detail, with an emphasis on accuracy, and ability to also see the broader picture; and high-level proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
