The mission of the USC Race and Equity Center is to illuminate, disrupt, and dismantle racism in all its forms. We do this through rigorous interdisciplinary research, high-quality professional learning experiences, the production and wide dissemination of useful tools, trustworthy consultations and strategy advising, and substantive partnerships. The Center annually serves hundreds of K-12 schools and districts, colleges and universities, and businesses and firms across a multitude of sectors.
The USC Race and Equity Center is searching for an equity-minded, deeply experienced professional to provide administrative support to each of its four portfolios.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contributing to the advancement of the USC Race and Equity Centerâs mission.
Multitasking numerous administrative duties, including organizing meetings and travel, responding to emails, notetaking, managing files, photocopying, answering the telephone, and welcoming visitors to the Center.
Assisting with logistics for virtual and in-person events.
Partner with the four portfolio leaders and the finance director on various financial transactions and budget management tasks.
Engaging with vendors and independent contractors who perform work on behalf of the Center.
Preparing reports and documents for internal and external audiences.
Representing the Center on various committees in the USC Rossier School of Education and throughout the University.
Other duties as assigned by the Centerâs Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Staff, and the Centerâs four portfolio leaders.
Education: Bachelorâs degree
Work Experience: At least 10 years full-time professional work experience.
Demonstrated commitment to racial equity. Extraordinary ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 3 yearsMinimum Field of Expertise: Secretarial or specialized clerical and administrative experience
