The Office of Student Financial Planning at Drake University is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to begin on or after July 1, 2021. This position will report to the Assistant Director for Continuing Student Programs, and plays a significant role in the delivery of professional and friendly service to Drake's students. Qualified applicants will have earned the equivalent of a high school diploma, with preference given to those with work experience in financial aid, administrative support, or hospitality settings. Primary responsibilities of the position include greeting in-person visitors, coordinating student or parent appointments with staff, answering the main phone line and email account for the Office of Student Financial Planning, managing the University's tuition exchange programs, and processing applications for Drake's employee tuition benefit. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills (including excellent written and verbal communication), high technological proficiency, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment. The position requires occasional nights and weekends with minimal travel.

Greet visitors for Student Financial Planning, Student Accounts and Registrar's Office and facilitate professional and friendly service.
Answer main phone line for Student Financial Planning and direct calls to appropriate staff as needed. Monitor and manage voicemail.
Monitor main email account for Student Financial Planning and forward emails to appropriate staff as needed.
In coordination with the Direct of Student Financial Planning, manage the University's tuition exchange programs and process applications for Drake's employee tuition benefit.
