Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory invites applications for a Research Investigator/Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr. Christopher Vakoc. A successful candidate for this position will have completed PhD and postdoc training in the area of structural biology and protein biochemistry. This experienced scientist will oversee two research technicians and will collaborate with other members of our research team in the design and execution of structural studies that aim to elucidate the binding mechanism of transcription factors with their partner cofactors. Prior experience in the area of protein purification, x-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, NMR, and/or biophysical assays studying protein-protein or protein:DNA interactions will be essential for this position. The major objective of this research will be to overcome the undruggability of oncogenic transcription factors through biochemical and structural investigation. This scientist will lead a collaboration with chemists from a biotech company to advance novel drug development opportunities.
PhD in structural biology, ideally with additional postdoc experience Experience in the use of cryo-EM, x-ray crystallography, and NMR for studying protein structure, as well as in various methods for protein purification.
