EDUCATION AND DATA ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST , Chancellor's Office-Institute Discrimination and Harassment Response Office (IDHR) , to provide training, education, and outreach on topics related to discrimination and discriminatory harassment. Will create and implement ongoing education in academic departments, help build a comprehensive evaluation system for training and education, and assist with related projects as assigned. Responsibilities include developing and facilitating departmental trainings and awareness programming that aims to reduce incidents of discrimination and discriminatory harassment, increase bystander intervention, and promote on-campus resources; designing and testing survey instruments for training and education initiative evaluations; extracting, cleaning, manipulating, and organizing training and education data; conducting benchmarking studies and literature reviews to identify trends; developing user-friendly reports and presentations; and participating on task forces and committees as assigned.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in related field, e.g., education, social work, student affairs, public health; three years' experience in higher education or closely related setting; knowledge of discrimination and/or gender-based violence training and education; commitment to serving underrepresented and underserved populations with cultural competence; excellent interpersonal, writing, facilitation, and presentation skills; ability to cultivate relationships in MIT's diverse community of students, postdocs, faculty, and staff; initiative; ability to plan, develop, organize, and follow through on projects and plans in a high-pressure, dynamic environment; knowledge of assessment best practices, effective survey research, quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretation techniques, reporting methods, and human subject research standards; proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., SPSS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel and Tableau); ability to interpret large amounts of data, determine what's meaningful, identify key insights, provide context, and develop actionable recommendations; and advanced-level computer, Microsoft Office, and Qualtrics proficiency.
