Two (2) or more years of prior field sampling and laboratory experience. Experience in analytical chemistry. Familiarity with mass spectrometry or nutrient analysis.

Job Description: The Center for Clean Water Technology (CCWT) at Stony Brook University seeks a full-time Research Support Specialist to work under the strategic direction of The Center's Senior Research Support Specialist. The successful candidate will support The Center's research, primarily by performing an array of laboratory analyses, but also by collecting samples in the field. The selected candidate must be capable of working independently but also be part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists and staff. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities will include:
Perform routine and complex laboratory protocols to measure nutrients on HACH auto-analyzer, trace metals on an ICPMS, organic compounds on triple Quad LCMS, and other basic water analyses.
Perform field sampling and sample processing according to established protocols.
Organize, synthesize, and perform data and statistical analysis. Analyze results, assist in the preparation of reports.
Maintain Center laboratory instruments.
Other duties as assigned.
