The Radiology Quality Documentation Manager will report to the Director of Coding & Billing Compliance.
Review and validate Radiology documentation for accuracy to support coding, quality measures, and clinical requirements.
Specialist must demonstrate knowledge of pathophysiology, coding and billing guidelines, and quality measures.
This role supports a quality assurance program, by acting as a liaison for the Clinical Documentation Improvement initiative.
Specialist will schedule meetings and provide feedback to providers to ensure the improvement of clinical documentation and facilitate ongoing documentation improvement to meet all requirements of the medical record.
Specialist will perform quality review and analysis of patient information documented by provider and works with the provider on documentation deficiencies, critical and major errors that have the potential to impact document integrity and/or patient care, thereby eliminating repetition of errors.
Coordinate work flow on the systems and processes.
Performs quality monitoring and participates in activities to improve outcomes for the integrity of the documentation in Coding Software.
As necessary, may assist with training and/or mentoring of other members of the Coding Department.
Meet monthly with 3M Coding Management to review and approve automation of services that qualify for straight to bill rules.
Requires a bachelorâ€™s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience; Masters degree preferred
Expertise in reviewing Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology medical documentation for accuracy
The ability to identify and communicate documentation deficiencies to providers to improve documentation for accurate risk adjustment coding
A sound knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations, including compliance and reimbursement. This allows for a clear understanding of the impact of coding on payment models.
A thorough understanding of anatomy, pathophysiology, and medical terminology necessary to correctly code using CPTÂ®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
Must be AAPC -CPC Certified, or AHIMA-CCS and CDEO Certified.
