Manager, Clinical Business Operations - (210000PK)
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Department of Medicine - Division of Infectious Disease is currently recruiting for a Manager, Clinical Business Operations . The position will be responsible for managing the contracts, grants and other income generated by the Clinical Department. This includes overseeing all procurement of supplies, services and other related expenses from that income as well as ensuring the Department remains in compliance with all university, state and federal rules and regulations. The position will provide supervision of support staff with in the department to further support Clinical activities.

Provide support to department leadership in achieving business and financial objectives of the department.
Supervise staff in the day-to-day operations of the clinical division, ensuring completion of tasks and duties assigned to support the department.
Oversee financial aspects of the department related to procurement: purchasing, approve expenditures, analyze variances, and forecasting.
Prepare financial reports including tracking of all financial transactions for clinical department. Provide detailed financial plans for decision making by the department chair. Reporting financial data to external partners as required.
Manage grant process including development, implementation, and post-award process to comply with all federal, state, agency and university policies.
Manage patient scheduling.
Manage facility space allocation and layout, communication services, furniture, fixtures and equipment design, and planning of facility expansion and/or modification.
Identify, organize, and implement ongoing staff training and continuing education.
Manage performance and training of team members to maintain a successful work environment.
Analyze internal processes and recommend and implement procedural or policy changes to improve operations.
Serves as an information resource to director, coworkers, the university, and external figures.
Handle complaints, resolve conflicts as needed for internal and external stakeholders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, or other related field.
Experience: Five (5) years of business related experience to position required, with at least two (2) in related clinical environment.
Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of work coordination and training of staff or direct supervisory or management experience.
