1. Distributes and monitors work of other support staff. Demonstrates processes to other staff and visitors. 2. Maintains a daily production schedule and statistics for the project. Explains and describes use of specialized equipment. Identifies and resolves quality problems. 3. Establishes, selects, implements and coordinates stock room procedures and systems. 4. Serves as a principal source of information for other lead staff and managers involved in other aspects of the project. Oversees, instructs, and coordinates support staff. 5. Maintains inventory level. Determines additions and deletions to inventory. Reviews and approves orders and invoices for materials and supplies. Places orders to vendors. Follows up on orders ensuring that materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates. 6. Makes suggestions for new procedures and policies in related areas. Monitors expenditures. 7. Uses computer terminal to input and retrieve data. Maintains logs and records of activities. 8. Collects, compiles and evaluates time and production data. Prepares reports. 9. Performs clerical function incidental to stock activities.
Preferred Education: Experience supervising staff and/or overseeing others' work. Demonstrated knowledge of chemicals, life science materials and protocols, how to order and store at the proper temperature(s). Ability in ordering supplies for life technologies. Scientific/research background.
