Thompson-Boling Arena is seeking an experienced arena event manager to lead the planning for and oversee the execution of events of varying types and sizes. This is a hands-on role that often requires extended and/or irregular hours as normal for the live events industry. The ESM will coordinate directly with service providers and other university departments, providing direction as necessary (often on the fly) to ensure that every event, whether major concerts and sporting events or conferences and job fairs are conducted in the safest, most efficient, and most enjoyable possible environment.
Opened in 1987, Thompson-Boling Arena is one of the nation's largest on-campus arenas and the proud home to both University of Tennessee Basketball programs and UT Volleyball. TBA is also an outstanding concert venue and the largest in Tennessee offering more than 22,000 seats.
The Event Services Manager will lead and establish protocols and oversee the execution of events within the facility, including major touring concerts, family shows, trade shows, basketball, volleyball, UTK events, and private events. Regularly the primary on-site decision-maker for events and serves as Manager on Duty, the senior arena decision-maker on-site, as assigned. Assures that each event is operated safely, effectively, and with expense efficiency. Client primary point of contact throughout. Disseminates event tasks to all departments, staff, and service providers to ensure an outstanding event experience for all clients, guests, and team members.
