Detailed Job Description RIT is looking for an accomplished individual with programming and data engineering experience to join its Enterprise Student Applications team.
Collaboratively work with RIT technical and business units and external organizations to configure and implement the Sigma Prosam Financial Aid system and related applications.
Understand and integrate other applications with the financial aid application.
Develop appropriate documentation of the system, its interfaces and help create and maintain test scripts.
Participate in the development of department policies regarding the software development life cycle, source code control and change management.
Interface directly with users, developers and other IT staff.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with various customers.
Work effectively as a team member and individually.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications Requirements: Minimum of 3 years related experience in analysis, design and programming with a variety of technical projects. Minimum of 3 years experience programming in one or more; MicroFocus Cobol, PL/SQL, relational databases such as Oracle 12+, Unix or Linux Operating Systems. Minimum of 1 year experience working directly with Financial Aid business partners, changing requirements and tight deadlines. Minimum of 1 year experience in administration, technical deployment, support and maintenance of third-party enterprise applications. Demonstrated ability to develop and follow an established development methodology.
Experience with the software development lifecycle process, software quality assurance processes, source code control and change management. Strong communication (written and oral) with the ability to work directly with both technical and business partners. Ensure the completion of quality deliverables to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ability to analyze a complex business problem and evaluate the impact of potential solutions from both a business and technical perspective. Possess the self-initiative to be given general guidance on an objective and to achieve that objective with minimal managerial guidance. Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to learn new technical, functional and business concepts relating to the financial aid applications without formal training. Responsible for understanding and following information security best practices, university policies, and information security standards impacting this role including use of any tools, technologies, services, and processes required to protect the universitys information assets. Work collaboratively to identify, communicate, and where appropriate, manage or remediate risks and information security vulnerabilities.
Higher Education Financial Aid development / support experience. Sigma Prosam Student Financial Aid application experience. Unix and/or Linux scripting. Building integrations using job-scheduling packages, UC4 experience desired. Experience with Informatica. PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2. PeopleTools 8.56+ Formal software methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps.
