Detailed Job Description Provide cleaning services at 40 Franklin St. that include the following:
Washing the entrance door windows inside and out, dust/ wipe clean sills and ledges
Vacuum carpeted entrance areas and walk off mats, vacuum stairs as needed, damp mop entrance rubber flooring, stairs and landing
Dust steel stairwell hand rail
Clean stainless steel drinking fountains
Empty trash cans, vacuum floor area and general dusting in office areas
Clean restrooms (clean fixtures, partitions, counter, sink and faucet sets, restock paper products, wash mirrors, mop floors, and disinfect/wash door handles)
Serve as a first responder to provide light maintenance at 40 Franklin St. that includes, but is not limited to the following:
General maintenance (Replacement the ballasts on light fixtures and lamps and bulbs, inspecting fire extinguisher, check boiler room and heat pump, painting and repairs to walls, repair of bathroom fixtures and building related systems and equipment)
Assist tenants with moving furniture.
Provide input to the project manager for maintenance projects.
Serve as a first responder to provide groundskeeping at 40 Franklin St. that includes, but is not limited to the following:
Police the perimeter of the property to ensure and remove litter from grounds. This includes: emptying trash containers, sweeping doorways, steps, and fire exits, removing signage, posters, and graffiti from campus buildings and grounds, removing and properly disposing of dead animals, wash away blood, other body fluids,
Shovel the entrances during the winter months.
Coordinate contract with landscaper.
Other duties assigned
The schedule for this position is Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm
Perform custodial, grounds and maintenance duties for RITs off campus property at 40 Franklin St.
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including call-in work that could encompass various shifts, weekends, holidays, Institute emergencies, and times other than normal work schedules.
Ability and willingness to provide contact information to be used for an on-call phone listing.
Must continually reinforce FMS' commitment to conduct at all times that is courteous, friendly, helpful and cooperative to students, staff, co-workers, and visitors.

Required Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
2 years of experience in Custodial or Maintenance.
Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Must have strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Must have good basic math skills.
Must be self-motivated and have ability to work independently with minimal direction. Must have the ability to take initiative, plan, prioritize, and execute a variety of repairs.
Must be willing to work in emergency situations to maintain conditions at the RIT off campus properties.
Ability to safely operate all equipment including, but not limited to; hand and power tools.
Able to work from various ladders up to 30 feet tall, including scaffolds and 40 foot man-lifts.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Consistently work safely following all relative OSHA, DEC and EPA standards, laws and regulations.
Ability to use software programs including Microsoft Outlook and learn the CMMS (work order system).
Must be responsible for managing relationships with customers and colleagues in an open, honest, direct and respectful manner.
